Just Something Shiny
Last Christmas Josh gave me a beautiful small diamond heart necklace. I wore it every day for months and months. I never took it off. I started wearing different necklaces but still alternating with the heart. I hadn’t worn it in quite some time. But today, I decided, right before I left to go out with Josh, to put it on. Later this evening as I was taking off a sweatshirt, I heard a sharp snap. The chain broke in half. I couldn’t help but think that this was symbolic of where him and I are in our relationship. And even though I am okay with that, at the same time I’m not.
